THE CLUB
Blackfriars Old Scholars Football Club (BOSFC) entered the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) in the 2006 season.
The idea was formed by a dedicated and committed group of Blackfriars Priory School Old Scholars, through their enormous generosity along with the Blackfriars Priory School the BOSFC Hounds were born. A home ground and club base was established at Park 2 in North Adelaide (colloquially know as St Dom's) where we remain thanks to the continuing support of the Blackfriars Priory School.
Since its inception in 2006, BOSFC have enjoyed great success on and off the field. In the clubs inaugural season we won the Division 7 Premiership, and then went 'back-to-back' by winning the Division 6 Premiership in 2007. In 2014 BOSFC went on again to win the Division 6 Premiership, moving us into Division 5.
In 2019, BOSFC announced its inaugural women's team. Starting the year in Division 5, the women's team dominated resulting in a mid-season transition to Division 4. Despite all odds, the team ended the year making the Preliminary Final in Division 4.
In 2020, the women's team built on the success of its first year. The team started the year in Division 3 and went on to win the Preliminary Final, making it to the Grand Final of Division 3 in just its second year of existence.
BOSFC is proud to have developed a strong and inclusive environment, welcoming any player, volunteer or supporter (Old Scholars and non-Old Scholars alike). The club continues to be built on a foundation of generosity, commitment, and local support.
