BLACKFRIARS PRIORY SCHOOL
Established in 1953, Blackfriars Priory School (BPS) is an independent Catholic boys’ school in Prospect, committed to providing a well-rounded education – academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
The school supported the foundation of BOSFC from the start and, recognising the value of establishing an Old Scholars football community, provided integral assistance in the formation of the club. To this day BPS remains a huge support, most importantly through the provision and maintenance of our home ground, club rooms and facilities, as well as access to training and gym facilities at the school.
Our club was initially established to provide BPS Old Scholars with an opportunity to continue friendships formed in their school years, while also remaining part of the extended school community through football. While BOSFC has since welcomed players from other schools, other states and other countries, our club’s commitment to the school community and BPS Old Scholars is just as important now as it was in those early years. We are proud to maintain a club environment that is welcoming of graduates of Blackfriars Priory School.
Our home ground at St. Dom’s (Park 2) is a shared facility managed by the Adelaide City Council, our strong relationship with BPS as the lease-holder has recently allowed us to begin transforming our Club. BOSFC has delivered new competition standard lighting and new goal posts among other improvements to compliment the outstanding work of the school’s maintenance staff, who deliver a high-quality playing surface season after season.
BOSFC continually seeks to improve the experience and opportunities our club can provide our Old Scholars, players, members, sponsors, supporters and the wider community. We are immensely grateful for the school’s ongoing interest in the success of our club, and thank all involved for their commitment, participation and help throughout BOSFC’s short history so far. BOSFC is proud to be associated with Blackfriars Priory Schools and looks forward to continuing that strong relationship for many years to come.
